<<TURBO-SUPERCHARGER: Commercial trucks have done this... A supercharger that spools a turbo.>> Actually it's the opposite. Detriot Diesel is just about the only engine that required a blower to function. Intake is first, then exhaust. The turbo spins as a result of the engine firing, the blower spins with the starter. And they added variables to this. 3-53, 4-53, 6-71, 6V-71, 6V-92, 8V-71, 8V-92, 12V-71, 16V-71. All just with GMC blower's Then they offered: 6V-92 T, 8V-71 T, 8V-92 T Single turbo on top of the blower And the last of the two stroke oil burner's was; 8V-92 TTA Twin turbo's & after cooled. The guys that go fast using Detroit's in class 8 trucks add a turbo to every two cylinder's, after the blower, not before it. |
