Seeing how it is a WiFi card and not just a "thing" that plugs into the USB port to amplify the existing 802.11x card in the lap top, that makes a lot more sense. Oil giving snakes can rest easy now! ;-)

David, The thing is not only an antenna it's also a wifi card. Basically by using this combo your have to stop using your built-in card. That is also why your need drivers to install it.
