my '82 westy failed to start after a gas station stop in redding, calif., during a 108-degree day in august after running for a couple of hours in similar heat. the only way to get it to turn-over at all and finally start was to wait for it to cool down. i was also running 50-wt oil at the time, anticipating a long, hot drive. if i have to pull-in for gas ever again in such temperatures, i'm going to idle it for about 5-7 minutes to let the engine fan cool-off the engine before i turn it off. art
