An M can look a lot like an H-- I spent two hours at the Department of Motor Vehicles once with a similar problem, alternately waiting and running back and forth between the inspection point (outside) and the "papers please" desk (inside) trying to get the old geezer inspecting my motorcycle to admit he couldn't read the engine serial number correctly and just copy it off the registration. I swear, they don't READ there. In fact, my Vanagon is currently registered to someone named "John Brange". Argh! But then BenT pointed out it had 40K+ miles in march '91, and others noted the old-style "table blocked" and "side opening" westy cabinet doors. I think the seller is trying to be tricky. Fooled me for almost three minutes!
