Schedule (weight) is a pipe classification which cannot be applied to tubing. Unlike tubing, pipe sizing is nominal and its schedule determines its wall thickness. If you are talking about pipe, 5S, is the lightest available, although 1 1/2 ", Sched. 5S pipe would be nearly two inches (1.900") on the OD. If you're talking about tubing, then you are wrong because 1 1/2" SS tubing is also commonly available in .035 and .049 wall thickness. Who knows how the Germans size things?
