Well it is easier said than done, but yes its not rocket science. The guys who put the window in did mention they use some form of lubrication but I do not recall which kind, I would be inclined to use a rustproofer as my lubricant (assuming it did not negatively affect rubber) so that the rustproofer is right inside that area working away.
