Another "fix" for this is to switch back to 55w bulbs there. Which I think is where I'm headed. I think the extra current to the headlights the relays allow will be enough improvement over stock through-the-switch flow, to get the light I'm looking for.

If you install new sockets and, use dielectric grease on the contacts and make sure the contacts are tight then there will be no more problems. I have two of my own vans with this set-up along with a number of customers vans and there are no problems. My '87 Westy has the new sockets and my '90 CARAT has it's original sockets.
