The 5-cyl is only a slightly longer fit. There is s lot more involved than the reaer crossmember. If anything that is the simplest and least expensive part in the conversion package. The most expensive part of the mountint hardware is the South African 5-cyl bellhousing. You see the 5-cyl was an optional powerplant available on some of the RSA versions of the Vanagon
