Subject:      Cylinder Head Temp Sensor- stripped threads!

I've been having problems with the engine dying after warm up on my 81.
Pulled the CHT sensor in anticipation of my new one arriving soon.
The thing basically crumbled out of its hole in the head. It doesn't
look like there's much thread left on the head.
Has anyone attempted a rethread or insert on this hole? There isn't
much room to work.
Any advice will be gratefully appreciated.
