I run snow tires on my van year-round, and love it.  I spend quite a bit of time on logging roads, plus I had a set of new snows, so I thought I'd try it.  I love the ride, however probably don't get as good gas mileage.

I LOVE my Westy in the snow, it handles like a dream!  The only thing is it's darned COLD to drive....

how many of us really drive our "pride and joys" in the snow and salt???

i know some folks who dont even drive their westys in the rain :<)

you know who u are (half the people on this list.. LOL)

plus 2wd vanagons suck in the snow no matter what tire you run..

yes a thinner tire will be less prone to hydroplaning on wet roads, but a
wider tire will give you better handling and less body roll...


so its a pretty even toss up IMO..
