Ben, though it is a fun event, I'm not sure it would warrent a trip from SF to the east coast..

check your local road race tracks. by local i mean anyplace your willing to drive.. Watkins Glen international race track (SCCA, Nascar, indy) allows local clubs to run on the track for the 1 hour down time during their circuit races..

usually BMWs or Porsche running a all day sort of thing.. gets them some more exposure, and brings local enthusiasts to the event..

and yeah it's a 2.5 mile road track and it's a BLAST. and you can pre-run the course on some of the computer racing games.

had the TD up to 55mph before i had to brake and turn coming down the hill err "boot" dan stevens eagerly awaiting W@W

next time, announce earlier. it would be such a kick to drive a vanagon on a track. too late plan anything from san francisco now.
