Actually it's the opposite.

Detriot Diesel is just about the only engine that required a blower to function. Intake is first, then exhaust. The turbo spins as a result of the engine firing, the blower spins with the starter.

And they added variables to this. 3-53, 4-53, 6-71, 6V-71, 6V-92, 8V-71, 8V-92, 12V-71, 16V-71.

All just with GMC blower's

Then they offered: 6V-92 T, 8V-71 T, 8V-92 T

Single turbo on top of the blower

And the last of the two stroke oil burner's was;

8V-92 TTA

Twin turbo's & after cooled.

The guys that go fast using Detroit's in class 8 trucks add a turbo to every two cylinder's, after the blower, not before it.
