We are the original owner's and have replaced a good running wasser boxer with a good running engine of Japanese origin. The details of the original 1.9 engine are: -at about 50,000 it had major work done to the head and related components due to a coolant system leak problem. -other than that, routine oil and filter, plug changes, etc -it was still capable of "pegging" the needle at 85 MPH on a flat road surface up to 4000 feet elevation. I don't know about higher altitudes, but we have traveled up to 9000 feet recently (last year's ski season) but because uphill and/or twisty...Well, you know. -The engine is in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area of California. -How does $700 sound? You pick up. Pmail me if interested. Thanks, John B |
