Interesting thing. There is a recommended retrofit of the O2 sensor in Porsche cars, I think about 82-92. Originally they came with a single wide O2 sensor and the retrofit uses a 2 wire sender. The only difference is that the two wire has it's own ground and the single wire grounds through the system. Possibly some O2 problems could be repaired with just a separate ground wire to the sensor.
