Pre-'85? For me, it's more like pre-'75. But I tend to dabble only in European cars and not too many of them had them thar car-burr-ay-tors after '74.

Besides, VW pump diaphrams were easy to fix. All you need is an old inner tube and a screwdriver, and a nice dusty road somewhere in Baja. Ah, memories....

I heard once of a car that used a fuel pump with a diaphragm in it. OH! Lets see ........ early VW and about any other car pre 85 that wasn't injected.
