Why, yes indeedy do I did. many many many years ago..... and it works very
nicely - thank you very much!!! It's a FUBA.
Cable runs forward along the left side inside with the rest of the wires,
carefully pulling the headliner on that side for access, then down the left
side upright next to the windshield. The antenna lead was just long enough
to reach from normal radio position back to antenna. Hooked up the amp to
the output from the radio that turns on the amp.
Antenna is located just a bit forward from 1/2 way between stiffenir rib
and back edge of roof. Had to be there to clear the Air Conditioner Coil.
Let me know if you'd like me to measure from back edge to center of
antenna. It's late now and don't have time to go out and measure.
If you search archives for "Syncrobeast" I'm sure you would find my
original post although I don't remember how long ago it was. Had to be AT
LEAST 7 years ago.

Hi all,
Since I've had my vanagon I've disliked the location of my radio
antenna...body, front driver's side. It just seems to call attention to
itself as a tacked on necessity....not like integrated windshield
antennas or an antenna that is visually integrated with the vehicle.
I do like the placement and look of the newer short black antenna's in
the middle of the roof of many newer VWs.
I'm wondering if anyone has retrofitted one of these to a Vanagon?
Placement perhaps in the middle of the front middle or rear middle above
of the rear hatch. It seems like a rear placement would get in the way
of any use of the roof for cargo though.
Anyone???
hints on how you might have run your cable?
Thanks...
