Subject: Starting motor connector? Was loose tranny bolts.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi volks, While tightening up some tranny bolts I noticed a dangling black electrical connector at the end of a red and white wire. This wire was one of a sheathed pair the other a larger diameter one leading to the solenoid. Both appear to lead back to the alternator. The part # on the connector is 191911921. Punching in the # didn't bring up any matches on any of the various vendors sites. In any case my van is starting and running fine. Does anyone know offhand the purpose of this wire/connector and where it actually connects to? I was able to clean the crud off the outside. How does one go about cleaning the tiny gap on the end where the metal spade is located? Nice to get under the van and start learning a few things, however, one thing seems to lead to another. BTW. Came across a few loose bolts mainly on the transmission pan. Hopefully this will cure any leaks. Time will tell. Cheers, Phil Menchions '89 Westy
