This is exactly what I found to be the case. It does not go through with this piece off, but you can feed that traingle shaped end of the cable through the 'nipple' and then screw it 1/2 way back over the thermostat.

I have a hard time believing this is the best case scenario for making this work, but if so, I guess i'll go for it.

Unfortunately when I called direct and ordered each peace from the main counter, not the 1-800 order desk number, each piece was confirmed by title and cost and added to my order.

It wasn't until it was received by me today that I realized they left out the pully and sealing for the cable, so while I made sure to order each piece for this system, I now don't have them all and it basically makes the rest of the pieces useless.

When ordering every part to a certain system, I would think it would be manditory to call when one of the pieces that make the rest of the entire system is not available currently.

but, thats just me.

--------------- From the archives:

I called Bus Depot, and they emailed me the following instructions:

"The thermostat has a cylindrical nipple protruding from it. This nipple must be removed so that you can feed the thermostat cable through the thermostat. This nipple is screwed on and also held with sealant. You can carefully unscrew it, leaving a hole to feed the cable through. Other than this difference, this thermostat runs a few degrees cooler then the original one did (so your engine will run slightly cooler), but the difference is not significant."

My observations: the nipple does screw off - the cable doesn't thread through the thermostat, but I threaded it through the nipple and then screwed the nipple back on. It works just like the "cable-holding cap" that I saw on the original thermostat, except not as well :) It doesn't screw all the way down onto the thermostat again, there are quite a few threads still showing when the cable has been run through it.

Cheers! Mike.
