I can suggest 2 shops in the Victoria area.

for metal fabrication, welding etc (but they have no machine shop capacity as such) try Associated Sheet Metal, on Kirkpatrick Crescent. They do great stainless fabrication, the welding and bending is top notch.

Close by, on the same road, is Vector Machining. A very good machine shop, cnc and hand operated machines. As a plus, a few of the machinists have very nice Ducatis :)

Another resource I have used is a guy named Dave Fair, who works out of his own garage. He does excellent aluminium welding (does a good business on bike and motorcycle repair). He is the process of moving house right now so I can't give you a contact number as yet.

The above mentioned take real pride in their work.

Several have suggested finding a local machinist to do the work you need and I agree for all the reasons mentioned. BUT I don't see any suggestions. Probably of great value to the list would be members providing the names and contact information for local machine shops that they have found in their area, shops that you can work with to get things done. Anyone with suggestions our there?
