Yeah but with the plywoods lighter weight over particle board in the van
will keep it bolted where its supposed to go in the first place.

The vanagon westy cabinetry is actually a laminate finished plywood with a
light core center, cant find it locally, I 've tried, its very light and
very strong, and not made in the US from what I can determine.

I personally hate all particle board products and try to completely
eliminate it from anything I own. Its pig heavy, it sags, absorbs moisture,
does not hold screws or nails well,  it is however very very flat.

Have ya ever seen an old van that's been through both home modification
(panelling, wood floors, etc.) and a head on accident? There is a reason to
use melamine based particle board type materials. Wood will shatter (even
plywood) into a thousand tiny lancets, just right for making your head,
body, etc. into a giant pin cushion.

Ouch.
