Subject: FW: anyone got any spare capacitors to fix syndrome?

If your Radio Shack doesn't have item 272-1436 (10uf at 16V), you can probably substitute an electrolytic. Tantalums are electrolytics but are made of a different material. They have more capacity in a smaller package and have a different high frequency response (not important here) than a foil electrolytic but for the application, it shouldn't matter.

You are quite correct, you can also install in series to make up the voltage, but the local Radio hut only has 1 volt tantalums- and I don't feel like soldering 15 of em up! (or buying a gross of 15v)

Thanks,
