Ok, here is my personal "tire progression" The link provided has the three phases my Westy has been through since 2002.

I've done 195/75-14 Cooper Discovery LT ~ good tire

Nokian 205/65-15" on SA wheels ~ Much better! Great off road setup before I lowered the van.

At the lower portion of this list of pictures is the current 17" phase ~ Kumho ECSTA ASX 225/45-17 setup. Reinforced, yep and the handling is nothing less than amazing for a top heavy bread box. (Thanks BenT for the tips on getting my ET correct :-)

For those rolling their eyes and predicting my early demise (chuckle), I've got over 20K on these tires so far with no ill effects. I've even loaded this thing with 800lbs of wood pellets and it just made it handle better.

These of course are just my experiences and who knows, God may hate you and strike you dead if you use anything less than 6-ply tires... (GRIN)

Cheers!

Brian
