>I drive a 1992 Dodge Colt hatchback, and my wife a '94 >Dodge Colt Vista Wagon. In the rest of the world, they >are known as the Mitsubishi Mirage and Expo, respectively. I think you'll find Expo is a US name. Never heard of it before. The Mirage is available as a notchback sedan, hatch and wagon. Some of these are badged Lancer; the naming combinations vary with the model generations! The first Lancer was the odd-looking small 1976 RWD sedan, which was I think called Colt in the US. The Mirage name was introduced with the first FWD Mitsubishi hatch, which later gained a notchback sedan version. It was some time after this that the Mirage name was switched to become part of the Lancer lineup. The current Colt is a small wedge-shaped tallboy (so-called "1 1/2-box") design. These are Japanese-market names, also used in the SW Pacific markets. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut HUMANITY: THE ULTIMATE VON NEUMANN MACHINE DEMOCRACY: RULE BY THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR |
