Running an in dash CD player for an hour occasionally requires less than running (say) a Westy-type fridge overnight. I think the only real advantage to an Optima is that you can safely turn them any way you want, which means you can get one that fits semi-neatly under the driver's seat when flipped on its side. I understand that Trojan batteries are the best you can yet, but finding one that shoehorns under the seat might be tough. I think the ideal solution it probably a big ol' single 12V or (even better) a pair of big 6V's in series under the rear seat, but that's just the way I've chose to peel that banana...
