Having received criticism with respect to the discussion, I might as well add insult to injury. A person who shells out that kind of money for a used vehicle usually doesn't intend to experience the learning curve that is associated with Vanagon ownership. When you buy a vehicle that is mechanically perfect, what do you do with it? You look at it and you show it off and you have your ego massaged that you are the owner of a beautiful vehicle. ----------------------------- Clip ------------------------ There are lots of people that shell out $31,000.00 for used cars and still tinker with their cars. Since I moved in with the local Porsche crowd I've found $30,000.+ 356 owners and $30,000.00 + 1989 Boxter owners. Many of them drive their cars every week end and others like myself, drive mine every day. I don't think I've ever seen a Westfalia that I'd give $30,000.00 for, I opted out for a nice Airstream in the $10,000.00 range that I can pull behind a $2000.00 3/4 tom pickup and still get mileage better than most Westfalia.
