Subject: Radiator Fan Problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Volks,

Looking for some help diagnosing a friends fan problem. '87 GL with A/C and Automatic. Fan circuit was working fine before overheating episode. It is now assumed that the overheating was caused by the fan not working. Van was running nice and cool with a new radiator and fan switch. Resistor pack is a few years old but was working. I had the owner jumper the wires at the fan switch and he got nothing. He said the fuse was fine but I'm not certain off the top of my head which fuse is involved. I sent him home to try putting power to the fan directly, check the fuses again and check the connections at the resistor pack. I know I'm missing something here. I've not had this specific set of symptoms before. Isn't there a relay involved too?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jeff Warner Galloway, OH '86 Wolfy Westy "Barry"
