Can anyone recommend some well-used forums for discussing VW diesel engines? Not necessarily TDIs, but NA as well I just bought a 1986 Jetta diesel, and am looking for a place within drivable distance from northwest CT to get a rebuild.

Were these pretty much the same engines that were used in the Vanagon and Rabbit? I don't think they changed much, except using hydraulic lifters in the later ones, before going to the TDI.
