The most interesting thing I have been watching for is the back room play (soap opera).

Piech (current board prez at VW) is a Porsche family member and therefore stock holder. The rest of the board says that Piech goes when Porsche picks its 2 seats on the board. Porsche has stayed totally silent on the matter. They have not spoken against Piech but have disagreed with some of his policies. They have not spoken out for him either. Do we have a possible family fight or squabble hidden somewhere?

Either way another member of the old guard is gone last week and only two are left. Piech the biggest one with massive power and the lower state of saxony. The saxony people already Piech out anyway. However Piech has the support of all the unions and a lot of the external political.

Bernhardt has already appointed a team to visit NA for models to be built and has had unofficial discussions with Diamler on a new People Mover to be built in the US. Porsche and VW are now working on a mini SUV to hit the US maybe as early as next year. Barnhardt and the new VW crew over-road objections to both projects to get them going after enough of the old guard was removed earlier this year in the sex and politics and fraud scandel. jimt
