We have a couple of very good resources in the Vancouver area Donald. The guys at The Bug Shop have been THE VW guys for over 20 years, with an emphasis on air-cooled and Vanagons. Vancouver Transmission is not just the only place to get your transmission repaired, but an honest and competent full service shop with reasonable prices. They take good care of my Mom's 90 Westfalia and gave my son a deal when installing a new timing belt and a clutch into his 87 Jetta. Last time I was there, just to talk, there was a Panel Syncro and a 68 Cougar on 2 of the hoists! I am not associated with Hans , just happy that there is someone to point friends to so that I don't have to work on their cars anymore! :-) Their number is 604-590-8404 Jake ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donald Baxter" <onanov@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2005 10:44 AM Subject: Re: 84 Vanagon Transmission NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This does bring up an interesting issue--where does one go for good transmissions for Vanagons. If you can't find one in a city like Vancouver, I'd think that would be a bad, bad sign for those of us in say, Iowa.
