I was about to say that myself. I found a set of matching Jetta cranks in a yard the other day ($1.50 for the set) and not only do they fit, but they're a bit stiffer, wider, and just look better IMO.

They have thicker plastic spacers behind them, but they don't offer any more clearance (if you were ever thinking of putting in aftermarket speaker grilles.)
