I used a 1 part bleach to 10-15 (it wasn't scientific) parts water solution. I also added a few tablespoons of powdered detergent. We had the poptop on sawhorses, dipped a medium stiff brush used to wash wheels into the solution and started scrubbing away in a circular motion. There was lots of liquid there. We probably used 2.5 gallons. I doubt circles vs. lines, vs. squares matters although I am sure someone has an opinion.

It probably took the two of us 25 minutes to scrub 2x, 5 minutes to hose it down and 15 more minutes to towel it as dry as possible. We then put a fan on it and went to lunch. From start to finish, it took 7 hours to remove the top & canvas, clean, eat lunch, mess around with the new, non-fitting canvas, and then put the top back on sans canvas.

As you can see, it came out great!
