How about one even more expensive....

An F-15 fighter crew chief was very proud of his aircraft, and worked hard at keeping it in top form. For a special inspection, he even scrubbed and Armor-Alled the tires. Unfortunately, he also got it down into the brakes. When the pilot next took the aircraft out, he could not stop, and ran the aircraft off of the taxiway, and into a drainage ditch. Armor-All was banned for use on aircraft soon after that!

I'll top this one in the stupidity department.

I just got done restoring a 68 TR-6 Triumph, a prime example to the paint , the pinstripes, the genuine Prince of Darkness wiring loom, it was perfectly bone stock, and pristine.

I stayed at work till midnight to get the engine cases, the carb, the rocker box cover's, Semi Chromed, the paint on the tank, fender's, and frame waxed to the max, and every item was siliconed with either WD-40 or an Armor all product.

WOW--

I leave the shop and take the concrete median curb in the center of a 4 lane highway at an acute angle--not dead on.

The Dunlop highway ribbed front tire slid off the curb and washed the bike out from under me at a high rate of merging speed, depositing my Dupa on the center of the median .

I only wiped down the sidewalls of the tires !

How embarrassing, how demoralizing, and what a set of bent bar's, clutch lever, and L/H foot peg I had.

Thank God I didn't wack any of the new paint work. I think I would have been suicidal~ : )

Ya have to watch out for that silicone stuff. It can be hazardous to you health. ( especially on a scooter.)
