These are new VW Europe parts. I admit I am making a little bit of money on these, but not that much and if I can bundle getting say three or four of these I can get a discount from VW Germany and shipping would cost less per unit. It would probably take $300 off the price of each R+P. We are talking about not light pieces that have to be wrapped correctly and shipped half way across the world. There are only two R+Ps for the automatic - 4.09 and 3.73 - that's it. No aftermarket parts that I know of. For what it's worth, the price for the automatic R+P is only a little more than the price for a new Syncro R+P from the Volkswagen dealer... R+Ps are expensive, no doubt about that. David, Couldn't you simply order and even taller ratio? Or is this a stock gear set? Otherwise, it turns into a very expensive automatic gearbox for such a small gain. I inquired with Daryl @ www.aatransaxle.com <http://www.aatransaxle.com>. After working out the numbers, it works out to be just too expensive. Daryl's price for rebuildinng the slushbox is cheaper than cost of the rign and pinion. BenT |
