First time parents are usually more nervous than parents w/ previous experience. Having grown kids, & many friends w/ kids, I would hazard to say(flame suit on) that the nervousness of babies is directly proportional to the nervousness of their parents. It can be amazing how much calmer 2nd & later babies are as the parents become more at ease w/ their parenting skills. Those little suckers are really smart & can wrap their parents around their little fingers w/o the parents even knowing it!

That said, all bets are off w/ kids w/ medical conditions such as CF, bad colic, etc.

I did go to a Telluride Bluegrass Festival 1 year w/ a buddy who took his baby son along, w/o the mom, & planned to wean the baby from the Mom on the trip! It was no problem, although it poured rain about 1/2 the time, we were camped outside of town in tents & Westys', etc. Spent time in coffee shops getting the bottle warmed in the shop's Microwave, changing diapers under tarps in the rain, etc. Still had a great time, but it was an incredible amount of work for the Dad, who luckily was a very high energy guy.

Again, the parents have a lot to do w/ how comfortable they, & the babies are while traveling.

FWIW,

Tom- this sounds like a banana topic?
