I had emailed Tire Rack last week looking for a suitable 15" tire to use on these wheels and was suprised by the response that I received. Their only recommendations were reinforced or 6-ply rated passenger car tires! When I called the tech up to ask him why, he said that he was very familiar with the tire requirements for a Vanagon and that he couldn't recommend a light truck tire since all of them were too tall and would cause problems with the engine management computer system!

I have since emailed him and described the lack of electronic connectivity between the engine management computer and any other vehicle component (beside the engine itself) but have yet to receive a response.

I'll be sure to pass it on whatever info I receive.
