Subject: Idle Stabilizer Control
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

I am trying get my rig ready for winter, and I have a problem with the Idle Stabilizer System on my 88 GL. I have been unable to identify whether it's the ISV or the ISC box in front of the right rear taillight assembly.

Anybody got a loaner ISC box that works? The bloody things are expensive new and I would just as soon like to avoid replacing something without a positive test result from a swap-out with a working unit. BTW, the ISV has NEVER vibrated and buzzed in a detectible way.... but it worked for a long time. Now the system system simply doesn't work. I pulled the box an looked a the boards in side and there are some components that look burned. That is most likely a sign, but I just want to be sure. I'm not fond of replacing electrical stuff with used parts, so I would like to know for sure before I order up.

Thanks.
