So...
I have the occasional shuddering clutch problem I think many vanagon
owners experience... comes and goes for no apparent reason.  Sometimes
its very bad, sometimes it's nonexistent.

I also have a strange knocking noise I sometimes get from the rear when
starting the car, or when pushing down on the pedal when the engines at
very low rpms (when I'm in  a high gear going slow).  Could these
problems be due to engine mount issues?
