When it comes right down to it, 'volkswagen' is a commonly used English word that has no relation to the company called Volkswagen (which means people's car).

You hear the work volkswagen in reference to things that are small, weak or insignificant in stature... volkswagen a trademark - ha ha ha yeah right!!

Volkswagen going after small repair companies like VolksCafe is like a dog biting their master's hand. My company buys about 5K to 10K a month from Volkswagen - I am sure that Volkscafe buys a hell of a lot more than we do - some thank you from Volkswagen.

Whew - with all this volkswagen sized crap going by on my PCs screen it's giving me a goodyear sized headache, so I'll have to take an aspirin wash it down with coke from my thermos, xerox a copy of it off and go to bed. Going straight to jail with that sentence! ;-)

Cheers!

How many companies, in the US and Europe, use the word Volks. Can German-speaking people legitimately use the word now, or will it be retired from the language?

Is this a move by VW or VoA?

If it's from VW, then the Germans can shut up about America be a litigious society. If it's from VoA, it's just more of the same crap we Amercians have to put up with because we have judges that are too stupid to understand our own copyright laws.
