Working at the FLAPS we see many a battery that when the voltmeter is used you get a nice 12.3 or up voltage. Hit the battery with 3 to 5 seconds of load bank and the battery doesnąt come back up over 10 or 11 volts - bad battery. Note...recently we tested several less than 3 month old "unnamed very cheap brand" batteries in the main charger/tester. They all boiled over. This is an internal problem with the battery. We suspect that company got a bad batch. Another reason I never buy the cheapest batteries. (tempted to send them the bill for all that baking soda and cleanup and corrosion to our tester/charger) When you go to the FLAPS for a battery check in the vehicle - go to the places that use the roll around cart and not the hand held unit. The hand held can not do a load test and only does a quick electrical check. jimt
