That is the computer is disconnected from the sensors. So a bad temp sensor 2 is not the problem.Same with the o2 sensor. After warm up ,if the engine is turned off,and then restarted the computer reconnects, after 2 minutes, >> One thing you should really know is that the above is not true. Just think about it for a minute. If a fuel system has no choke nor cold start valve, how can it be started whenever it is cold? Regardless of the type of fuel system, an internal combustion engine still needs cold start enrichment to get it rolling whenever it's cold. In a Vanagon the FI controller adjusts the pulses to the injectors in order to provide cold start fuel enrichment. How does the controller know how much to adjust the pulses to the injectors? By reading the coolant temperature, of course, as reported to it by the Temp II sensor. Hard starting either cold OR hot can be a symptom of a queefed out Temp II sensor. The FI system operates open loop only to give the OXS time to reach its elevated operating temperature and then begin to fine tune the mixture in a closed loop manner. Using the OXS as the pivot man in a closed loop mode before it is kicking would be pointless. George |
