in this week's (Oct. 31st 2005 ) Newsweek magazine, there is a big writeup on page E8 about VW's new head honcho, Wolfgang Bernhard... and what he plans to do to get VW out of a slump in the US. here is some of the article: "Bernhard recently told US dealers about four new US models.. a small SUV, a new convertible based on the Jetta coupe, a large sedan, and the re-launch of the classic Bus.. Bernhard says the new minivan will *not* have the retro look of the New Beetle. He cut a deal, not yet final, with his old buddies at Chrysler to build the 7 seater Minivan in the US at a Chrysler plant and reveals that this could become a "mutual thing" with VW also building cars for Chrysler." so we get a new "VW" minivan made by chrysler? such hypocracy.. chris |
