Hey Kevin
For some Baja pictures, check out some of albums here:

.
I've done several trips and can recommend a bunch of stuff. For starters,
where are you planning on entering Baja? If via Mexicali, you can head south
to Puertocintos, then to Gonzaga Bay, then back to Highway one via Coco's
Corner. From 1 you can head into Bahia de los Angeles, then south to San
Francisquito. From there you can head back to 1, joining the highway a bit
west/norrth of San Ignatio. In San Ignatio, arrange for a tour of the cave
paintings (north of town in the Mountains, so a bit of back-tracking), or
you can head out to the Lagoon and see some whales. I believe you can head
south from there but have not taken that route. Back on 1 at San Ignatio,
head east down the big hill and check out the Eifel-designed church in Santa
Rosalita (get some french pastries there as well). Then, south to Mulege,
Bahia Conception, Loreto, etc. From Loreto you can head into the hills
(west) to check out the old church at San Fancisco Javier, then over the
mountains to Cd. Constitution, Bahia Magdelena, etc. Then south to La Paz,
south again to Cabo Pulmo, into the mountains for some hot springs, west to
Cabo San Lucas, north to Todos Santos, then pick up 1 again heading north.
Once past San Ignatio, you could see some other whales at Guerro Negro,
north on 1 again until around Colenet you can head up into the mountains to
see the observator, then north via Mikes Sky Ranch to pick up the road to
Ensenada..... Anyways, there's some ideas to chew on
Dang, I wanna go :)
