Howard, I think you are wrong here. I'm 66, and was around when the
splitties arrived. And now we have some younger folks who have picked up
on the value of the Vanagons and joined the ranks. And as I travel
about, I am always getting from the really younger crowd - late teens
and twenty somethings - "Hey Dude .... cool van - like your beard, too!"
They notice, and eventually  that will turn into something else. Just
give it time. Only thing, I can just see these young cats out driving
their vintage Vanagons with one difference - my danglies are my chin
whiskers - their's will be all their peircing metal - barbells, rings,
chains. . I just hope they don't snag up on something! :-)
