I live down SE Texas and the humid air causes lot's of buildup on contacts. I have had the exact same problem as you a few times. On the List here I read to unplug the TPS, AF meter etc and spray contact cleaner on the contacts. This has solved my problem every time Mark Magee Kemah TX USA 90 Carat 95K mi

I Have an early 85 with dual switches. the switch is either open or closed with a helper. im not sure what TPS is can you elaborate? ( throttle possition switch?) also i dont know how to check vacuum readings what does this take to test?? and in the bentley where is this located?? thanks Jonce
