Hey Bro, on this page i have many pictures that shows sleeves & pistons removal.... nothing special there.... some heat & patience.... http://www.benplace.com/bjp_head1/100_0047.jpg http://www.benplace.com/bjp_head1/100_0054.jpg http://www.benplace.com/bjp_head1/100_0058.jpg http://www.benplace.com/bjp_head1/100_0059.jpg

Main page: http://www.benplace.com/vanagon_engine1.htm

I split open 1.9 & 2.1 like soup can those days (mostly top-end)... nothing to worry about those rods, unless, when warm, you hear a banging noise... the rods noise (very rare) is more obvious when warm. "Split-case" boxer engine http://www.benplace.com/bjp/100_0085_78k.jpg are more complex than we think, don't open this one for nothing.

Don't put new sleeves & pistons for nothing also, new/reman heads + new pistons & sleeves can be hard on an old crank (higher compression)

If you have any questions, contact me in private.... i have tons of others pictures.

Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/
