Its my understanding that the vanagon coil is an "electronic" type of coil and different somehow than the trusty bosch blue coil.

The way I came to this knowledge is through my top mechanic who instructed me to replace the coil and wires in aid to passing smog, and I asked if the BB was the way and he no that for our vanagons the coil is different and a bit specific.

Perhaps others know exactly what the diff is.
