Subject: Give me some feedback here!!!!

What do you guys think about that problem: First, take a look a those pictures: http://www.benplace.com/fridge/t_plate1.jpg http://www.benplace.com/fridge/t_plate2.jpg http://www.benplace.com/fridge/t_plate3.jpg

What you see here is a broken Torque plate on an automatic Tranny, this plate is located where a flywheel is on a standard 4 speed tranny... it hook up to a Torque converter in the Bell Housing. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/torque-cutaway.jpg http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/torque-intro.jpg http://www.tciauto.com/tech_info/images/converter_exploded_view.jpg

Here is the story: Sad story... Boston USA, the customer Automatic Tranny T-Plate broke in 2, first picture, 1600$ (300$ for a used T-Plate!!!). She get to Montreal, to my shop, same problem, second and third picture... Tranny output bearing is good, no loose no play on tranny side, Torque Converter look ok, but after a deep analysis, the center bushing may be loose so that could explain the torque vibration and the breaking of the T-plate... Rebuilt T-Converter, everything look fine for now... lets see... (i also suspect a heavy tranny oil lost!!!! before the fist breakdown)

Any suggestions or comments....

Regards, Ben http://www.benplace.com/
