point ignition system and the coil has a built in current limiting. The
Vanagon ignition is a variable dwell design with the current control part of
the electronics. The Blue coil will work but will deliver less spark energy
than the proper oem coil. The oem coil has more than enough energy for any
normal operation. The only ignition upgrade worth considering is possibly an
MSD system. Bring money.
