The high beam indicator turning on is the key. You have lost the ground connection to the lamps. You can connect the grounds directly to sheet metal behind the the light assemblies, (best approach) or repair the original. Both lights are grounded on a single terminal, attached to a ground cluster above the fuse box, attached to the left. You will see the burned out connection.
