Subject: Was Sluggish 1.9L Now power galore sorta
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Well that chapter is finally over for now. i was having issues with the 85 1.9L just acting like it was just a bit sluggish. so i swapped the afm with a capacitor afm install that i had and found a pinched air hose (both of which i really dont think made all that much difference. then adjusted the throttle possition switch as per bentley and cleaned contacts. was better but still needed just a touch of something. so i followed a listees advice to just barely advance the timing. then let the wild ponies ride. well sorta. had alot more guts pulled out in traffic without worry and sounded and acted like the van i knew it could be. the thing is is that now that ive won the battle i purchased a 81 westi that runs like a top after just a few little things and makes me want a aircooled vs water cooled again. the dream vanagon westi is a early 83 or 82 will work. i just like the interior cabinets in the later vs early wood grain. also the seats are nicer in the 85 then the others. any one know of a federal non CA vanagon westi to fit that bill. i would trade a 75 911S for it that i have listed for 6500.00. or trade a nice running 85 westi that runs like a top with tons of new stuff put on and done right and is complete. oh well its like wanting a syncro westi or doka the pipe dream. c-ya Jonce
